Counselling Services Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

As a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BC Association of Clinical Counsellors I am required to follow the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).  You have a right to informed consent and I will review what information I will collect, how it will be used, stored, destroyed etc. in detail with you before we start services together.  I will ensure that you receive a copy of any signed informed consent form for your own records.  I have used the BCACC standards and the BCACC approved Counsellors Guide for Developing Personal Information Protection, Policies, and Procedures to create the informed consent form.
